Fast rising movie star, Miram “Mimi” Orjiekwe has won the award for the Best New Face in Nollywood at the annual African Film Development awards.
The award ceremony held on June 19th 2014, during the 17th edition of Zanzibar International Film festival in Tanzania.
According to the organizers of the awards/festival, Mr Mykel Parish, Mimi was bestowed with the award based on her extraordinary display of talent in the movie, Mission to Grave. Veteran movie producer, Andy Boyo also won the award for best Africa movie producer with his latest effort, Cobra. Peace Anyiam, the organiser of Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) was honoured with a special recognition awards for her contribution to the growth of African Cinema while Richard Mofe Damijo got a lifetime achievement awards.
